Business Continuity Awareness Week 2017

Business Continuity Awareness Week 2017 (BCAW) is a global event designed to educate organisations on the importance of business continuity planning and resilience by sharing experiences, knowledge and best practices.

This year, Business Continuity Awareness Week will run from 15th – 29th May 2017, and celebrates the theme, “CYBER RESILIENCE”.  As the world becomes more and more digital, so do the threats that it faces. Just as we need to protect our organizations from disruptions that occur in the physical world, so it is important that we also have plans in place to deal with disruptions in the virtual world.

So what will you do to raise awareness of business continuity and the importance of cyber resilience?

InConsult recommends a range of activities to help raise awareness and improve the level of staff engagement in cyber resilience and business continuity management:

  • Update key elements of your BCP, your IT-DRP or CyberThreat Response Plan
  • Hold  Cyber Risk Awareness Training for the Crisis Team and key staff.
  • Host a “Lunch and Learn” for all staff to outline their role in cyber security and how to identify high risk/spam emails.
  • Conduct a Cyber Security Exercise for the Crisis Management Team.  Download our Business Disruption Exercise Scenario ideas.

InConsult encourages all organisations to get involved in Business Continuity Awareness Week 2017.
