Cyber Threats in Construction

The Construction sector is now part of the top 10 industries in Australia under attack by cyber criminals. More than 1/3 of all attacks on Construction stem from email scams and result in losses over $200,000 for larger business.

The Australian Federal Police distributed a media release in October 2025 warning of the significant increase in email scams hitting the Construction sector. This increase is not limited to Construction and is hitting all sectors, including your suppliers and contractors.

A lack of visibility into cyber security providers and that of your suppliers and contractors is a significant risk. Get in touch to ask about our free assessment.

Are you unsure of the cyber security of your suppliers or contractors?

Suppliers and contractors often have a financial dependency on construction businesses. This poses great risk of monetary loss for both parties as threat actors know that invoicing is both critical and frequent.

We can assess the cyber security of your suppliers or contractors of all sizes. We strengthen security across your entire business,  protecting all parties involved.

Are you looking to improve cyber security?

Our team at InConsult is ready to help you. We are highly experienced in drafting and implementing cyber security controls in any organisation. With experience across various industries, we can help you follow best practice or even chase international standards.

What are the benefits of cyber security assurance?

1. Expose supplier / contractor security weakness

Assessments can identify poor performance of suppliers or contractors that put you at risk.

2. Identify Policy gaps

Your organisation may not have the right foundations in place to adequately guide decision makers and general staff.

3. Enhance Staff practices

Keeping staff up to date and educated is just as important as having the right foundations in place.
